The league started as Austin Filipino Basketball League back in 1999 to 2008.  In 2009, we’ve opened the league to include all ASIAN descent.  We have former players that has moved on to play basketball in college and professionally.  We have been successful in hosting tournament every year since the inception of our league – the camaraderie we built within the ASIAN community in Austin and in other cities in Texas. Today we are simply called AUSTIN ASIAN BASKETBALL with our MOTTO “We PLAY to COMPETE!” with this we will maintain and promote opportunity for younger Asian youth to hone their basketball skills.  Some players of the league represent          in yearly Filipino Basketball Association-North America Labor Day Tournaments.
